STATEMENT OF FAITH
A.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit and written through human authors, with God Himself as its ultimate author (2 Timothy 3:16). Scripture is God’s love letter to humanity, revealing His character, His love, His will, His work, and His plan for what is to come. The Bible ultimately points to the person and finished work of Jesus Christ.
B. God
We believe God is the Creator of all things—seen and unseen—who brought everything into existence out of nothing. Though beyond full human comprehension, God exists eternally as one God in three equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Father
In perfect love, the Father sent Jesus Christ to redeem and restore humanity to Himself and to our original design. He loves the world and desires all people to experience intimacy with Him as His beloved children (John 3:16; 1 John 3:1). As God’s children, we are invited to call Him Abba (Father) and enjoy uninterrupted fellowship with Him (Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6).
The Son
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, and ascended into heaven, where He now serves as our High Priest and Advocate. All who trust in His finished work receive complete forgiveness, a new heart, and adoption into God’s family—freely given by grace. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 1:12; John 14:6). He will return visibly to make all things new and fully establish His kingdom (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21).
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit lives within every believer and is the source of new life (Titus 3:5). He glorifies Christ by reminding believers of His finished work and their identity in Him, convicts the world of sin and the need for a Savior, and serves as comforter, counselor, and helper to all who listen to Him (John 14:26; John 16:8–14).
C. The New Covenant
The New Covenant was established through Christ’s death and promises total forgiveness, a new heart, and adoption into God’s family for all who believe (Luke 22:20; Hebrews 8:8–12). The Church has been entrusted with this message of life and serves as ministers of the New Covenant—not the Old Covenant of the Law—living in the freedom and power of the Spirit and grace of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:6–7; Romans 7:6).
D. Life by the Spirit
Through Christ, believers are set free from the Old Covenant Law to live in the new way of the Spirit (Galatians 5:1; Romans 8:2). The Law revealed humanity’s inability to meet God’s standards, pointing to our need for Christ. Now, with the Spirit of Jesus living within us, we live the Christian life by allowing Christ to express His life through us.
E. Salvation
Humanity’s sinful nature has separated us from God, and salvation cannot be earned by effort or good works. Salvation is found only through trusting Jesus Christ as God’s plan for redemption. All who believe receive eternal and abundant life by grace alone (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8–9). Salvation is secure and permanent because Christ’s finished work is completely sufficient (Hebrews 7:25).
F. The Christian Life
The Christian life is a journey of growing in understanding of God’s love and Christ’s finished work. Through the renewing of the mind and the power of the Holy Spirit, believers exchange lies for truth and experience the abundant life they already possess in Christ (Romans 12:1–2; John 10:10). Obedience and growth flow from gratitude and love—not from an attempt to earn God’s approval.
G. The Church
The Church is made up of all God’s children—Jew and Gentile—and exists first to know God and to make Him known. Founded on the finished work of Christ, the Church is a global disciple-making movement entrusted with the message of reconciliation to be lived out locally and globally (Matthew 28:16–20). Through the indwelling Holy Spirit, believers together become God’s dwelling place on earth (1 Corinthians 3:16).
H. God’s View of the World
God created humanity in His image as male and female and loves all people deeply, despite humanity’s rebellion and the presence of sin in the world (Genesis 3). God desires all people to be saved and continually draws them to Himself through Jesus, while honoring human free will (2 Peter 3:9; John 12:32).
I. Heaven and Hell
Heaven and hell are real. Heaven is eternal life in the presence of God, and hell is eternal separation from Him for those who reject the grace offered through Jesus Christ.
